Tai Chi- based movements help the body to relax, releasing tensions and giving the mind a chance to settle and the body to cultivate Chi (energy).
These calming exercises promote health by enhancing energy levels while building strength, focus and flexibility.
Tai Chi / Chi Kung has been a great help in my life and something that I really enjoy sharing. I have been running community classes in Worthing, UK since 2003. I also teach classes and workshops online.
The following forms are at the core of my practice:
Traditional Long form Yang-style Tai Chi
18 movements Tai Chi/ Chi Kung (Shibashi)
A variety of Chi Kung forms
Hongmen Fan form
32 step Sword form
I also have some experience of pushing hands.
My gentle style has been inspired by a number of teachers that I have learnt from over the past 30 years or so.
My primary teacher was Cathy Wu (then based in Birkenhead, UK) who herself learnt from her mother-in-law Julia Lowe and Dai Yumlee (Yang Cheng Fu lineage). I was a student of Cathy's for around 8 years.
I continue to seek out new learning opportunities, other teachers that I have been inspired by include:
Gerda 'Pytt' Geddes, Catherine Robinson, Gudrun Gylling, Annie Bennet, Tan Mew Hong, Angus Clark, Michael Richmond and Dr Paul Lam.
Do feel free to contact me for class details or if you have any questions. I am also available to run sessions at events/workshops/retreats.
